In 2023, we partnered with Manchester based charities, We Are Survivors (formally Survivors Manchester) and Mandem Meetup, to create a future-facing education brand that informs professionals how they can help Survivor’s feel comfortable and safe at appointments.
So, What's Survivor Ally all about? It’s an educational brand aiming to drive improve how Survivor’s feel when going to appointments by educating professionals through a series of short films course that share real stories from real Survivors, and quiz-style courses with questions that are linked to the videos. The courses can be taken at weareallies.co.uk.
Together, with Allies.
Both organisations teams/partners collaborated in synergy. We had a number of meetings prior to kicking off the project to get a clear understanding and ensure we have the right approach to deliver the best outcomes for the project. Immediately, we wanted to bring together elements from both organisation identities. Our thinking was to do really this together.
In bringing Survivor Ally to life, we collaborated with the organisations, professionals and survivors to craft a powerful visual identity, designed an engaging web experience, and produced four compelling short films. Together, these initiatives aim to empower professionals to create safer, more supportive spaces for survivors during appointments, fostering empathy, connection, and healing.
At its core, Survivor Ally aims to revolutionise the landscape of survivor support by empowering professionals across various sectors to become informed and empathetic allies. The project provides comprehensive training and resources to professionals such as barbers, dentists, physiotherapists, tattoo artists, general doctors, and sexual health doctors. Through collaboration, education, and advocacy, Survivor Ally is paving the way for a more compassionate and inclusive society—one professional at a time.
